Monday Morning

09:00. Depart pier.
09:00 - 11:30. We begin our sightseeing with a visit to the 10th century Manjunath temple, also known as the Kadri temple. The Sanctum sanctorum has a rare collection of bronze statues. The main Sanctum is situated in the middle of a yard, surrounded by a number of small temples dedicated to Lord Ganesh, Lord Shiva, Goddess Durga etc...There are nine water tanks, which are built above the temple level. There is a Shivalingam (little statue of Shiva), which is believed to have the power to fulfill your wish when water is poured on to it.

We then visit the St. Aloysius Chapel. Well known for its 19th century Frescoes, painted by the Italian trained Jesuit priest Moscheni covering the walls and ceilings in a profusion of Biblical scenes, is over a century old and is referred to as the Sistine Chapel of South India.

The Rector of the chapel will give us a brief talk on the chapelŐs history and paintings. To the left of this chapel is the St. Aloysius High School and to the right is the famous St. Aloysius College.
11:45 - 13:30. Shopping followed by Lunch and return to ship.
15:30. Arrive at the Pier.
